Restaurant holding my money

Establishment: restaurant

Location: Boston

The restaurant I work for pays out tips (earned from Credit Cards) very late, sometimes it’s a week later, sometimes not so bad, 4 or 5 days. And sometimes (as often as not) it’s weeks, and we have to scream for it and then we only get little pieces, like if they owe us $500 total, we may get $200, then we have to scream for more.
Anyone know how long they LEGALLY have to get us those earned tips?

I’m pretty sure you should be getting them right away or close to it. Do some investigating, there are lawsuits and paybacks happening all over now. It’s a good time to get some legal action actually done while the topic is so cotroversial right now! Good Luck!

Not paying tips in a timely fashion can be a serious violation of state and federal wage and hour laws. I am an attorney, and our firm concentrates in representing restauarant workers in individual and class action wage cases against employers all over the United States.
