sleazy managment
Establishment: Red Fez
Location: Boston
I worked there and was hired for 15 an hr to be "security" because it was by pine street inn. But when they found out I was gayI was suddenly a host making 9 an hr while most of the women got 8. It is sexiest and they give free drinks to cute girls but not to the unattractive ones or male staff. The food is great and when I got to cocktail in front I could make up to 300 on a weekend. But Matt the manager is a real sleeze and they always have a problem with your paychecks and say it is not their fault but instead the confussed chinese accountant….which is bull shit. I have had all three managers give me solice that even their paychecks get messed up which doesn’t mean shit to me. I only worked there 7 months and in that span had 4 messed up pay checks. The managers are sexiest to women and gay men and are arrogant and rude…but the atmosphere on the weekends is great and it is a cool place so if you can just stay out of there hair you can make good money because people in sowa tip a lot! at least it isn’t geoffrey’s hahaha

just heard that the ol’ Fez was getting some press on this site. The Fez is a perfect example of what can happen when a know-nothing owner insists on making decisions concerning operations when there are perfectly qualified and competent people who can make better ones. Not only is he green as the grass that grows when it comes to the restaurant business, he is a liar, a thief, a cheat, and possibly a low-end sociopath. Anyone who has ever had the displeasure of dealing with him would not be too disturbed by the site of him getting into Sam Rothstein’s car from Casino.
When I think of the Fez, I think of that scene in “Goodfellas” when the restaurant owner is signing the papers prior to them lighting the joint on fire for the insurance money. Just before signing the last paper, he looks up and says “It’s a f*%kin’ shame.” It really is about that place. It was fun to work there, and being part of the staff meant being part of a family. I don’t think I’ll ever again have that kind of experience with people that I work with. I miss a great deal of the very much. The Fez didn’t have to go out like that. It’s a f*%kin’ shame.
