……yeah, I guess there is a few of us who have worked up here in the North Shore burbs trying to make “Boston money”. I saw on craigslit that Strega and Finz are hiring. Some poor fool will apply there and learn the hard way like we did. Some notable North Shore restaurants to discuss: Who has worked in these venues???????????

the owner of Brutole restaurant is a jerk! His checks bounce and he owes all of his vendors and some of his employees back pay! The space is great and the food was decent, but he can’t get decent help there. Any good servers he did have-he f#&*ed over. The manager, his personal lacky who he rescued from drug addictions over a decade ago, is the biggest tool ever. Sexual harassment, anger management, incompetent to manage people because he never had experience previously….This restaurant is a shame because it could have been awesome, but over the past few years the cheap stupid tool of an owner ran it into the ground. Who knows how it stays open, I think there must be money laundering going on-it is definitely shady!!!!!! DON”T ever work here.

Yes, there is way too much drama! The incestuous nature of this industry is hilarious, but also unfortunate!!!!! I can see Brian walking out of Capt’s. It was a very difficult restaurant to work in! The executive chef who opened with that restaurant was a drunk and was asked to leave as far as I had heard….. I cannot believe he went to work at Strega!!! I thought he was talented enough???? When you’ve worked in one restaurant here, you see how much it sucks and you quickly move on to the next hoping it is better!!!! Another nightmare was Oxford Grille (the restaurant in Lynn). Great food, obnoxious and HIGHLY strung owner!
Mandrake’s executive Chef walked out on the owners because his ‘drama queen’ waitress girlfriend caused incredible problems and was asked to please leave (nicely, mind you, the owners gave her a chance to find another job quickly) How is that for having no class? Oh the mystery unfolds……You want to know who the sleazy waiter was….If you once worked there his initials were M.B. and he was shameless in every way. When waiters had to pool tips, he cheated the other servers on paper because all tips were paid via check on a bi-weekly basis. When he was ’shortchanged’ on a big party he had the audacity to go back to the man who paid and ‘embarrassed & solicited’ more tip money by asking if everything was okay and how was his service……..Who would do that? Red Rock bistro. Holy shit! If you can take the heat there…..

I worked at Anthony’s and it was awful. Working events with a cash box was scary as they ‘eyeball’ the booze bottles and if your cash income doesn’t match their estimate EXACTLY, you’re in deep shit and they look with suspicion at you. No way I was going to work under those conditions, so I walked. The managers have absolutely NO personality which is at odds with being in the ‘hospitality’ business.

Tryst is a great restaurant, unlike all the rest of the shit in the NS. Screw G Bar and Shitkitchen, Red CROCK Bistro, and all the rest. The Black Cow Restaurant group should just stop all off their restaurant production and commit professional suicide. They’re trying for one on the water in Beverly and that’s gonna tell everyone that the quality of Beverly restaurants is low. Black Cow + More Restaurants - Brains in the management + lack of kitchen talent 3 cubed = disaster

Don;t forget the Goat Hill Grille in Beverly. What a joke.
