Tracy-Operations Manager ( Grill 23 )

Establishment: Grill 23

Hands down one of the biggest bee-atches in the history of restaurants. She gets promoted to a office-management position because they got too many complaints about her being a complete c##t on the floor??????Its true. She is a horrible person-talks down to people-has absolutely no concept of what it means to be "nice" and when she thought she was being nice it was completely contrived. Her little boyfriend is perfect for her because he has NO SPINE-he also got fired as a waiter but for some weird reason still works for the company. Tracy loves to delegate to everyone below her; and trust me honey-you think you work hard-YOU DELEGATE very well. No concept that other managers around you are working their asses off-but you have to get off your ass from your desk and come tell me to do something even though I already have 20 things to do. I would call the other restaurants looking for you on days you were supposed to be on"She’s not here, she’s not here". You really do suck. This is personal-MANY, MANY people feel the same way I do about you, but kissing ass and that big paycheck is worth more than self-respect. Some of the things I said may be untrue and unjust-I dont care-the simple fact is if you were on fire I wouldnt pee on you to help-if you were in a cross walk and the light was green I swear I would speed up. Karma really is a bitch and your terrible bitch face will pay=up someday. Oh yea, you really are ugly.

Funny, I worked at Grill 23 for years and never had a problem with her. She worked hard but was hard on those who didn’t. Could that be you?
Everyone I worked with appreciated that. When you make that much money at a restaurant, you don’t have room for slackers. Everyone there knows that. Someone has to enforce it at every good establishment. Maybe you just couldn’t cut it there. Outback is hiring.
I understood she did many things that most employees, even managers, didn’t know about. Kinda behind the scenes.
She made my life there much easier, we worked together. Did you work well with others before you were fired?
Maybe you should take a good hard look in the mirror, and not at 4:30am after one too many.

Listen as far as grill 23 goes ,Some of the best professionals I’ve worked with (OK, there’s always a bigger fish, but the kids are among the best in the Bean), the drama is minimal (again, compared to the rest of the city, perfection is a perpetual process afterall), they know their stuff and at least with me, they were fair in every respect of the biz. They do set a very high standard, but try seating 800+ people on a Saturday nite, maintain their volume and sales, achieve only a few food complaints (kitchen consistency is amazing) per week and at least 60% of daily regulars, returns and word-of-mouths (not to mention the perpetual and repetitive corporate and private parties) and you will understand why some people leave (fired or having quitted) screaming like dying roadkill about the “a$$#0!e managers”… If you know what you are doing, follow steps of service, thrive well under pressure and can follow directions and execute instructions immediately, management there is your best friend. Not to mention the dough, BEST in the city, cash in your hands every nite, too much of it actually…

Well, unless you are fishing out someone or something, you are doing research follow-up on the Craigslist post for a FM position. One of my closer friends still manages there (I do hope you are not after his job Evil or Very Mad ) and is being taken good care of (the owner also operates Harvest in Harvard Sq and Excelsior on Boylston, most of his BOH, FOH and management have been with him for years, including lucrative in-house promotions), few bonuses here and there, relatively flexible and accomodating schedule, etc.
I think Jason rules, Lyle is hilarious, Alex and Yanik could focus a bit more but would still dance circles blindfolded and cuffed around 99.9% of the management out there, Eric is as nice as it gets… The old names having spread terror on the floor and horror over the city are gone or moved up in the office and now calmed down for good…
Bear in mind it is a no BS house, drugs are at an all time low (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it)… It is the best steakhouse in the city, hands down, a turn’n'burn with a fine dining attitude - be on your best behavior, stick to professionalism, you’ll do alright.
Ask something in particular.

Okay, Guest, so the time stamp is off.
Sorry for the inference that you skulk around at night ranting away anonymously on websites.
You do it during business hours.
I am not attacking anyone! Just pointing out the facts, facts that anyone who reads your manifestos would conclude: you need help.
You are one of two things: extremely bitter or very jealous, hopefully not both. You would think with your vast restaurant experience of 4 ½ years you would know how to deal with the restaurant world. We all have people we don’t like in our lives but we can’t let it consume us. Occasionally the world is unfair. If it is more than occasional, then you need to seek help, because it ain’t the world, sister, it’s what’s in your head!
You got fired.
Get over it, move on.
I don’t remember the last time this woman and I crossed paths. We are not friends. We frequent the same establishments. I don’t think I would chose her as a friend, but this type of unfair blabber from a misguided sole is not appropriate, even in this type of forum. When I worked in restaurant, she was respected by many, and I am sure still is. She was understood for the job she did and has moved the corporate ladder for a reason. That’s what makes the world go ‘round, Guest. Someone wrote about the bottom line. That’s what keeps businesses in business, and it is especially important for restaurants to watch.
My advice Guest, is for you to get off your lazy, self absorbed butt and find a job. And stop whining.
Oh, and next time, think about what you are going to write instead of just blabbing. It would be much more interesting for the reader.

Wow, its people like this that make this site so interesting. Ok, so if Hmmmm…wants to attack, then here it goes-and I in no way mean to offend anyone else, this is solely intended for Hmmmm…;
Did I work well with others, yea, ask my co-workers of 4 and half years. This is a very small town and I have many friends that work at many differant restaurants. We talk. Hmmmm…you tiny-minded twit, I would never work there. Did you write your post at 9:32pm on Thursday? I should stop there because by that alone you have revealed that you are obviously a stupid bitch. And thank you for the therapeutic advice-is that what you’re doing now, instead of wasting your life as a waiter? I’m sure your life was easy back then because you were obviously an asskisser. I hear that gets you far there. Does that cause you self respect to kiss ass? Was it easy when the kitchen would get slammed so bad that the food that goes out looks like food they wouldnt even send out at Outback. But, gotta turn those tables, gotta make that bottom line. Was it easy because the extremely talented chef that has been there for 9 years has admittedly lost his fire and has been on auto pilot for some time? well, if its all about the money then that place was perfect for you. If all you care about is money, then its ok to treat people like crap or talk down to people-cuz it gets the job done, then good for you. A career waiter-yea, you have alot of money, but you ‘wait” on people. You take people’s disrespect and abuse and when that dollar snaps their fingers, you come running. Just to make a dollar. You might as well be a stripper-you wouldnt work as hard(waiters work very hard).Someone asks you at the end of your days, what did you do with your life, as you sit in your posh home-well, I was a waiter. wow, thats what you did with your life….man though, nice house. Anything else Hmmmm…come, give me more….

Who said hmmm is a waiter? 9:32PM on a Thursday? What does this tell you; it’s either an office person or someone that wasn’t working that night. Big house? You clearly are stabbing in the dark and have no idea who this person is other than a decent person trying to lighten the insult to the operations manager. All about the bottom line? Of course it is, all businesses are about the bottom line - they’d be out of business if they weren’t. There are some hateful rants on here attacking specific people which is just as
c%#nty.

Big house, decent objective post, watching the bottom line; I would hire them long before hiring a self-entitled moron like the folks posting here. Heed your advice and get a life.

Hey observer, its 10:49….you’re obviously a brain surgeon too. guest makes valid points. i love that people on here tell other people to get a life and stuff like that. you all are so funny. if everyone was as perfect as the people that come on here all holier than though there wouldnt be this wonderful site.

To Fara, unless you are living off daddy or mommy’s trust fund, which you might be after trying it in the real world and failing, I have sobering news for you. Anyone, and I mean anyone in the workforce is doing whatever they have to make a buck. We are all strippers and all prostitutes. Only about .001% of us are doing what “we truly love” the rest of us live for that oasis we call our day off. Grow up!

Management in general in this country are unskilled unprofessional, and total fucking morons, so fuck with them as much as you can.
