Dan kaufman could be the biggest scumbag in the history of the restaraunt industry. he cheated on his girlfriend so much he had to sleep at The Restaurant south the last few weeks he was there. he is a serious coke head and has been spotted at lots of gay bars recently. he is hiding out from almost everyone that he stole from, but there are a bunch of people in southie that will eventually get a hold of him im sure..Dan kaufman will be going to jail from what i hear. he stole so much money from south and signed so mnay bad loans that the authorities are getting involved. also heard his coke problem is out of control. … but im sure the cops will be down to get him soon enough.I believe he owes everyone in Boston money and has pissed off about everyone possible. . He steals, does drugs, lies, cheatsall the restaurants he ran will be better when the dust settles. .I heard he’s swindling thousands out of stupid investors and he has opened up INC. which was the lowest rated restaurant in the history of Boston.It’s fair to say Dan kaufman is an embarrassment to this industry , he should win the most shameless restaurateur award !! and If you are wondering where he is now ,…Dan oversees several properties on Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights NY- a lot of yuppies. One is an Ice Cream store that is perpetually out of ice cream, and, from what some employees say,he is out of cash as he takes it from the drawer several times a day. The other is Oven, where he would serve ravioli cold and dead-and says they were supposed to be that way, or occasionally serve green beans on pizza. The other is a place called Busy Chef, which is largely a lot of re-packed Cysko (see the trucks) and other pre-made products. Which is hardly the end of the world, but funny how he - and so many - chefs claim it’s homemade. Dan inflates the sales at this place to his investors, something a simple check on the database on their POS might reveal (there are back-ups one counter person told me, I guess someone else who worked there did them).
His attitude towards employees? Well it’s a game of manipulation he’s very adept at. He likes to move people around so they don’t corroborate stories. He didn’t like his partner at Oven, because that guy was smarter and claimed to do a bunch of shit with the computers to track what was happening. Probably bullshit, like the rest of the place, but in my few weeks there it was fun to watch. He’s always there too - I guess he’s worried that someone might see behind his stories or something. pretty sure his family does not know about his daughter in VT. He has been quoted as saying he’ll quit jobs to avoid having his wages garnished to pay the child support he owes. He was nearly arrested for using his company’s credit card inappropriately, but somehow managed to pay them back to avoid jail time.
He is a complete as#%*e. Someone should tell his new girlfriend about his shady past. He is a cheat, he lies, and he steals money from everyone including his family. They all despise him. He was hated in high school and lies about where he went to college. That poor little girl in Vermont has hardly received a cent from her "daddy". He should be ashamed. Look into his past. Unfortunately all the restaurants he touched in Vermont have gone under. Adriana’s and Tuscan Kitchen to name but a couple. You could check with Flex-A-Seal in Essex or Propeller Media where he decided to venture outside his ‘restauranteur’ expertise.
What he’s done in the past is horrifying and when he runs these restaurants in Brooklyn into the ground those people will say thats horrifying as well.
He should be stopped before all those poor people lose their jobs and their families end up paying for his deceit.

i recently dated him..and when i noticed that he lied to me about his last name i googled him and couldnt believe what i saw..he ised me for rides and money…he was very charming. he said he was staying with his aunt to help her with her rent..riiight. he was staying at her appartment in islip terrace on carlton ave. in long island…he makes me sick! i cant even begin to tell you all the lies and “weird” things he used to do…if you want anymore info..contact me
