In a pinch
Establishment: Chef’s Station
Location: Evanston
I applied for a job her against the advice of two former coworkers who had previously worked there. It was just as dysfunctional as they said it would be. I did it for one reason and one reason only: we are in a recession and I figured that they might be hiring, because they always are. Never quit another job to work here. You’ll never last. Only a few people ever have. The chef (an asshole) is the main problem. The owner is petty and childish and the other waiters (couldn’t stand them—you won’t be able to, either) are sneaky and backstabbing. It’s a good place to go for a quick gig to make a little $$$ ( but not much) and then get out fast. What’s so ironic is that he food and wine are incredible and win all kinds of awards.

THE CHEF IS AN ASSHOLE. HE THINKS HE IS SOME KIND OF GOD. HE
CARRIES THE LITTLE MAN NAPOLEON COMPLEX. HE IS NOTHING BUT A COPYCAT COOK. MAKES SLIGHT CHANGES TO ANOTHER CHEFS MENU WHICH HE WAS THE PREP COOK BEFORE. ALL ALL OTHER RECIPIES COME FROM COOK BOOKS.
