It would be a bad choice!

I lowered my standards by accepting a job at the historical restaurant, ‘The Pump Room". The restaurant itself is a failed monstrosity, which has become a burden to the hotel Ambassador East where it is housed. As unfortunate as that may sound, they are highly overstaffed, don’t take any reservations, present no options to the guest and deliver an unsatisfactory product to the table. The management lives in the land of the small picture, can’t answer questions about the food, fail to provide any tools that could be of use to the staff i.e. consistent wine lists, and walk around like drones. I am disappointed in myself for accepting substandard employment. I strongly urge anyone considering a job with the Pump Room to reconsider. There exist better options. Have faith in yourself! There is little money to be made in this establishment.
The first HR person loved me! The second Hr person, about 22 year old hated me. I have 18 years of solid work in our industry. But 10 of them were at Hooters, so she told me I was not rite for the job… lol!!! I’ve only had 5 long term jobs in 18 years. I am in the service industry for life. Too bad she had a problem with someone that has a great skill but worked somewhere she has never been.
