Bolaka staffing for catering waitstaff,be aware of this scam , these guys advertise in the
village voice , and Craig’s list ,( need waiters and bartenders
$10 /hour plus tips come to Roosevelt av )…. Sounds familiar, u
go there, its this guy tells u the start pay is $8 and asks you
to go get your tuxedo ,then he puts u in a car going to NJ
with others , for a banquet event , u don’t make money until
the event starts , u report 3 hours before the event starts ,
and u work like a dog , clearly they give u the worst station
in that event by the time u get home its next day, u go next
week to get paid on the 7 hours of work he deducts $15
for transportation and another 5 for so called insurance, u do
the math how much u take home after wasting 14 hours .and tips
do not exist by the way .
I worked for Boloka staffing for about 2 months and i have to say it is the worst place i ever worked. The owner Gias try to sexually harass me when i showed up before. They have some nasty indian guys trying to touch me. They have alot of guys smoking weed and not doing any work and they get paid the same as me. My friend Sean is the only good waiter and he is trying to get Gias sued. The hours are long n the work is brutal, dont ever go there.
