Nothing! The site is free to use.
What do restaurant owners and employers think of this site?
Well, that depends on the employer!! We get a lot of emails from employers telling us they like the site, and we’ve even had some telling us how the site has helped them finding out what really happens behind the scene in their own restaurant. We also get some pretty hateful emails telling us how inappropriate the site is, how they are going to shut us down, etc.

Is it even legal to allow anonymous posting that could involve defamation and slander ?

First we would like you to read our disclaimer, and second , anonymous speech is an old American tradition. Thomas Paine wrote “Commonsense” anonymously because he was afraid the British would hang him. Restaurant employees naturally don’t want to get fired, blacklisted, or sued. The Supreme Court upheld anonymity in political discourse saying: “Under our Constitution, anonymous pamphleteering is not a pernicious or fraudulent practice, but an honorable tradition of advocacy and of dissent.

Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority” (McIntyre v. Ohio Election Commission) Some legal scholars believe that the Court’s decision has implications for blogs and websites like Shamelessrestaurants.com. What are the posting guidelines for this site ?

If you’re angry, that’s good. It’s an appropriate response to abuse. However, if your comments on this site are just angry, obscenity-filled rants, readers of your post may assume that you are the problem and dismiss your comments. The most effective posts provide detailed descriptions of the abuse , name and location of the restaurant. The success of this site depends on the integrity of the posters. It is critical that posters be honest in reporting abuses. Please do not use this site to settle a score if there hasn’t really been abuse; if you do, you will undermine the credibility of the site and of all the posters who have legitimate grievances.

Does every post get published?

Almost, but not all , if your post is meaningless or spam , or repetitive in nature it won’t be published.

Can I be banned from posting or commenting on this site?

Yes,If your comments are excessively self-promotional,obnoxious or even worse , boring. There will be no warning and no appeal .
