Disgusting People
Establishment: Kay ‘N Dave’s Cantina
Location: West L.A.
These people are gross. This was my first job in L.A., and while only there for a few months, I feel deeply troubled because of the experience. Ownership makes you feel like you are on pins and needles. They threaten you, look at you weird, talk behind your back, and when they do fire you, they won’t do it, they make managers do it. These people have never worked in a restaurant, and thank God, because they would have been fired, …for not having a clue of how ‘normal’ people interact. One time a cook touched me in a funny way. When I told management, I ended up getting threatened by the owners. I then saw them laughing with the cook. I quit because I had no other choice. I now have to attend therapy because of the Thai lady.

Had same experience. Went to an “open interview” and was interviewed by some dirty, disgustingly presentable “employee” who could care less that I was more than qualified but a threat to his position.
Fwd a few months. I get a job as a manager working for another (crappy) place and hire one of their employees who was looking for extra work. I hire the kid who not only is a rockstar, but the most reliable, hardworking polite kid you will ever come across. I wanted him full-time so jikingly I said to quit the other job and he embarassingly tells me he was fired for doing something any mature person would do. Their loss, my gain. I have heard horror stories about the place and will never eat there.
They are always hiring. They constantly have ads on craigslist. I applied there years ago and it was not busy and the owner was giving 2 minute interviews and she had no idea what she was doing/talking about. Probably the same woman in the comment before mine.
There is a red flag when a place is always looking for help!
