I think we should all know about this one

Establishment: THE MADISON RESTAURANT

Location: 102 Pine ave. Long Beach, CA.

This place is open for regular service but specializes in extremely rich weddings. extremely expensive weddings, too, with the management’s practice of tacking on dozens if not hundreds of unconsumed drinks and unopened bottles of wine onto the bill.
Dirty kitchen, with cockroaches/moldy bread/poor food handling. the kitchen staff is awesome, and works hard but cuts corners. Patrick, the owner, is really crooked, stealing money from his talented staff on banquets and trying to bang every female customer and employee with a large chest. most egregious offense i witnessed: 2 servers, 1 busser work a 25-person buffet, with carving station and great wine. $3300.00 bill, auto-18% grat. (just about $600.)
A week later when the cash was disbursed: each server got $125, busser got $45.
most large weddings end up with a $28,000-$35,000 bill, with 10 servers, 6 bussers, and two bartenders. a "good" tip out to a server for one of these is $200, $80 for bussers, and $300 to the bar. That’s about $3000 of at least a $6000 tip. plus, the owner or managers would ring about $2500-5000 in drinks never ordered or made. pure profit. nice way to clean up an extra $5k on a Saturday night, if you’re the restaurant owner.
This place is really really crooked, don’t throw your money away on mediocre steak, especially for your wedding. plus, you should see what it looks like when the servers cut up your wedding cake in the kitchen. Yeeeesh.
