Managers Beware!!

Location: Region One, Los Angeles
I am currently a manager for California Pizza Kitchen in region one which consists of the locations in Santa Monica,Beverly Hills,Beverly Center,Brentwood and Westwood. If you are a manager looking for employment beware of these restaurants not so much due to the company but more the upper management. I have never seen so much turnover in management with any company. Myself and several other managers are looking at other options because of how unprofessional the regional manager behaves. I have seen talented managers let go for personal reasons after the regional manager has boasted to other managers of how she dislikes a person and they are next on the \"list\". The reasons for termination are so weak its borderline illegal and I am sure litigation is right down the road because of how these terminations are handled. In addition, I have seen her give \"promotions\" with all the added responsibility and yet with no monetary increase only to demote after she has used the manager to cover the gap she needed to fill. Amazing. I have had to work extra days as punishment when labor was not on target and when she is questioned by the corporate office about the allegations she denys it and there is no follow up from a corporate representative. I don\’t mind attending some corporate events but to make them mandatory i.e. you don\’t have to go but god help you if you decide to spend your time with your family, the retribution is swift. I could go on but I don\’t want to provide too many more specifics lest my identity becomes obvious and I become next on the list. CPK is a good company, it used to be great but with people like this regional manager at the helm I am afraid Rick and Larry\’s flagship will sink. I know times are tough and there will soon be a few managerial spots to be filled in region one but think hard before you join this region until they at least replace the upper management.
