The owner of this place is an insane alcoholic nazi he thinks he can treat his staff like slaves. The turn over is very high because of the owner philipe not only he is rude and nuts but also extremely rassist. He uses people and throws them out like garbage. Sometimes he uses trainees for weeks and then fires them. He also fires people on a whim because he doesn’t like their face or some ridiculous excuse. They have an add on CL  every week because everybody is quitting don’t bother applying.

that place is a joke! a wanna-be French Bistro!

i interviewed there a few years back.

it lasted twenty seconds before i ran screaming out the door and i made sure to take my resume with me too.

Absolutely true that guy phillip Bernard needs to be in an asylum. I worked there for a few weeks last year, he abused me emotionally every single day, making jokes about my appearance and accent and my background. Complete jerk. He thinks everybody is stealing from him. He charged us for family meals which I never ate because I am vegetarian, when I asked for a vegetarian meal he said that I should eat grass and laughed at me.I quit right away. Don’t bother with this place it’s a joke.

Ok, what could i say about Saju? i’ve been there for a year and I can’t agree with what it is said here and write not write about it. Philippe could sometime be quite demanding, but he is the owner and protect is “baby”. He is also french, and political corectness is not his strong suit.

I have known Philippe Bernard for 25 years, and have been working for him for the past 3 years. I was very upset to read the comment concerning him. Mr. Bernard is an experienced bussimen who runs his restaurants with a firm hand and a need for perfection. These comments were uncalled for.

to the comment above, ok, maybe he seems alright to you but hm…it’s gotta make you think a little, no? why other people said those thing about the guy, right? so please if you wanna praise for the guy, just not here in this site. Look at the name of this site. ok.

Everything said about that man is true except the praise, he probably made his employees write the last comments to make him feel better. my girlfriend used to work there and it sucked the life out of her. She was used and abused and when they hired new people she lost her shifts to them!. That’s how he thanked her for a good job. Avoid that place.

oh so Jacqueline, why don’t you stay and work for the guy for the rest of your life then, ok, if he’s soo nice to you.

Everything is so true.I worked for Phillipe for only few months,apparently he hired me only for Thanksgiving-Christmas season. And after he fired me. He is a total psycho. Thinks that eveyone steals from him. You know why?He used to work as a waiter across the street at”1,2,3″.And he stole there. A lot,I heard.

I worked at this sad place and stole and stole and ate and ate. Escargot always! I ate off the plates, I drank, I sent in a friend who pretended like she hated the food and Philipe comped her a free dessert and she said take your brulee and shove it! I would often give free drinks to my friends. It was great. Phil got wise and fired me and who cares. I speak french fluently and can work at any french bistro in the world. haha!

what a waste of time and money! I spent mad money buying the required uniform (shirts pants belt AND new shoes) only to be told the next day everything i had on was not “acceptable” and could not work without such. Could i return the 150 dollars worth of new shit? hell no, bc i had ripped the tags off thinking i would be using them. Ugh had to go out and spend the rest of my dwindling bank account on new uniform. Training was 6 day (no pay) SIX! 8-9 hour shifts and I am not saying I just trailed someonei was working, taking tables, and giving my tips to my “trainee”. There was one piece of shit manager there who I saw in 2 occasions walk by and grab with his grubby bare fingers food out of the employees meal tray. (we couldnt order from the menu- only the managers could) The first time i saw this i bit my tongue and assumed maybe i was mistaken (??) until the next day i saw it again, he plucked a piece of meat out of the food that was made for the employees. disgusted i confronted him, he had the gall to tell me he didnt do such a thing even though i saw it like 2 feet away. gross! On the sixth day the hiring manager told me on thw way out they would call me that night to give me my new work schedule, only that night i got a call from a different manager saying i wasnt qualified to work there and that they didnt need me after all. So i worked one week for free, have a large collection of ugly clothes i will never use again in my closet, AND they had the nerve to still claim me as an emplyoee for their tax purposes! i got a W2 months later and on it they claimed i made over 300 dollars while working there. MOTHERFUCKERS!

i was supose to go to an interview tomorrow and instead i just called and told them about all the comMENTS i red on here i don t want go there no more…FUCK YOU SAJU BISTRO

I’m suppose to interview tomorrow for a bartending position. Are all of you above servers, do you know what it’s like for the barteders? Do they turn over as quickly? Are tips pulled? Any info is appreciated very much.
