Smith & Wollensky

Went for Restaurant week, of which their menu was boring unless you were willing to pay the $10 up-charge for any of the worthwhile main courses and still only had basic appetizers and desserts. I ended up ordering off the regular menu and the food was disappointingly mediocre at best. The prices are unsurprising for what it is, but some aspects of the experience were surprising for what they charge. The high traffic of the entrance made it feel like a zoo, with a 20 minute wait in spite of our reservation. The mid-town suit and tie types overwhelmed the place with loud pretense. While I cannot impeach the quality of the food itself, the exceedingly simplistic preparations seemed incongruous to the fact I was kept waiting almost 10 minutes after my dining companions had already begun their main course, and then only to be served a steak that although cooked to my desired preference and flavorful, was completely room temperature. I would never go back again.

only because of greedy and incompetent pseudo management and thieving useless bar staff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, the wait staff in general keep that place going, apart for the few that pay big bucks to the door for favours rendered ????????
