Clueless owners (as in banker and trophy drunky whory wifey). They think they can run a 16,000sq ft place?! The “chef” who is also a resident cokehead, is a joke! The payroll is bouncy bouncy. The pay for parties is weeks behind. The owners steal from the staff. I know it’s the norm in NY, but still, somebody has to say something…. The management is good, or at least tries to stick up for the staff. They cannt do anything. It’s just aweful. Corporate run crap.

Sounds like duck soup!

Duck soup?! I don’t know what that means. The owners steal from the staff (tips-banquets). The owners will go bankrupt. They’ve done this before.

Why do you still work for them. Several times waiters in NYC had to take their employers to court and a good number of them won thier cases. Shelley’s Mr. Chow,Cipriani’s and several others.

i interviewed there a few years back…like two.

i was asked what i didn’t like about my current job…the interview was over as soon as the words “tip misappropriation” came out my mouth.

yea… this place sucks ass! i knew it right from the get go. i was hired to be part of the opening team but i just didn’t see how the full of confidence inexperienced couple could run this mega size restaurant along with the useless young midget managers they hired. they thought they can compete with Jean Georges Spice market or stephen starr’s buddakan. its good to have dreams but its sad when grown ups of that age can still be so naive. and by the way, you’re very nice to call the curry wifey a “trophy wife” honestly, shes not hot enough to be a trophy. maybe she can start by losing a few pounds of those jiggles.

I agree with the comments. I was also interviewed to be part of the opening team. I was interviewed 3 times, was hired by the GM, then before I was to begin, the experienced, older GM, was replaced by someone in his twenties and I had to interview again. I AM NOT KNOCKING MANAGERS IN THEIR 20′S. I SWEAR. It’s just I had already been hired, stopped looking for other work, and then was told I needed to interview again. I took it with a grain of salt because I understand that the GM’s replacement wanted to approve of the past GM’s hirings. However, when this younger guy with a hospitality degree asked what I could bring to the table it was difficult to not laugh. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, have been GM at several restaurants myself, and have worked every position in both FOH and BOH. (Just to note I do have a liberal arts degree. There was no such thing as a hospitality degree way back when.) Since they opened I have been called and asked if I wanted to interview twice. Suffice to say, I just don’t return the calls. Payal, she’s no trophy, has no respect for staff. During one of my interviews she discussed how replaceable servers are. My advice to anyone is to do as I’ve done and stay clear of this place. It won’t be around long.

They are THIEVES!!! I’ve worked there for over 8 months, wish I could have left sooner, but times are rough. Incompetence and waste abounds. Stay away.

Well all of these comments are correct. The owners are running the place right into the ground. What used to be a hotspot is now a has been. It only took them 3 months to kill the late night crowd, congrats! That place is by no means a night club, but merely a glorified lounge with a restaurant sound system. Within the last few months they started charging a $20 cover charge, and they wonder why business is slow. Get real your not a club!!! Besides the owners being thieves, they and the managers are 2 faced. They smile in your face one minute and then talk shit about you the next. The owners have no clue how to run a space this big, maybe they should manage a spot like Curry In A Hurry, seems more their speed. As far as the curry wife, because I agree she is no trophy . . . let it be known she fucks her employees (and im not talking about money).
