Seeking the help of my peers

Okay, I know this site is primarily for rants and info re: our respective restaurants. BUT, I need a little help!! I am new to the area and my wife’s birthday is Monday!
I’m a restaurant worker from back east I imagine you all here have to be/ are very familiar with places about town.
I need places the wife can put on the little black dress, I can wear a jacket and step out LOVELY!! We plan to start with cocktails somewhere around 7pm, sushi…somewhere and maybe drinks and dancing later…again…somewhere!
Please help! I got the present, lined up the babysitter, now I want to play the night away fabulous!

thanks jen, i know of that place. cool for thirty “somethings” with a LITTLE bit of money and Funky sensibilities?
You might want to look into Tanuki. The chef there, for I believe 20 or 25 bucks apiece, will send out several courses of good stuff. Biwa (on SE Ash and 9th) is also very good. Both of these places aren’t super posh, but are excellent experiences.
Portland City Grill. Spendy but it’s what you are looking for.
