I too hoped that it had closed down when I saw the 150 Wooster location boarded up, but no such luck. The owners are so cheap and unethical, I hope they get busted soon. I worked there in a management capacity for a few months. As an occassionaly coke abuser myself, I did not think the owners had a habit, tho one of the Casa managers seemed to. First of all, the owners are cheap pricks. Always very condescending, always lecturing, always quizzing, always threatening. Just how cheap are they? I saw a coworker ,also in a management position, get her SALARY pay pro-rated for one sick day. Are you serious? remove 1/5th of their salary check because they called in sick? Ridiculous. Unethical. "If you worked there call the labor dept, ask for james Monahan." I would advise all to do this. The tipping system whereby new servers get 25% of the cut, then if you do well move up to 50/75/100% is bullshit. Out of 15 or so servers, I saw maybe 2 of them at 100%. That is crap. But the unethical part of it is how arbitrarily they will lower it for messing up, and how hard it is to raise it back up. You get your full 100% that you deserve, if you can tolerate management for 6 months apparently. But the truly scumbagish part, the part you should have the labor department look into, is your last check. If you quit, any outstanding paycheck is immediately bumped down from 50-100% down to 25%. Check your numbers on your last check! Yes, some tipout goes the management, buyt that is a practice seen in most restaurant (the tip goes to the restaurant to help cover the manager's pay). And yes, as a previous poster pointed out, the owner's fiance started as a hostess and "worked" her way to the GM position for all 4 restaurants. BUT, I would like to point out that she is actually somewhat sweet, and the nicest of the owners.
