I thought this place had potential for greatness when I was hired. I believed in their vision and bought into their ideas - all valid and some even inspiring. The problem they face is finding a legitimate manager. They hired a crackhead to run the show. Who in their right mind thinks they are capable of managing a restaurant while wearing track pants (WORKOUT clothes) and high heels on the floor, in front of cutomers, on a Friday night. Did I mention the COCKROACH INFESTATION that has been refused to fix due to potential costs? If you want a free bottle of wine or your first round of drinks on the house complain about your table or server or anything - be creative. Just watch out for a manger with dark circles under her eyes, a thriving colony of cockroaches, and a wait of over 2 hours to be seated because of mismanaging employees and underscheduling servers to save the labor report. The scary part is that business is still doing well enough that labor costs should not compromise service and the quality of the food to this extreme. I would be fearful to find out what happens when business takes a nose dive.

I left E & O because they shortchanged all of us on our paychecks. They rounded all our hours to the nearest fifteen minute incriment, always in favor of less hours worked. It was not that big of a deal for my minimum wage paycheck, but the hosts and cooks were losing a lot of money. Just think how much money they are saving by taking 15 minutes out per day per employee…about 40 employees work in a given day…that’s about 600 working hours stolen. Thankfully this did not happen daily or else it would be too difficult to cover up, but I lost a couple hundred dollars I worked hard for. My word of advice if you go there - tip in cash because after we declare all our tips, managers look at the credit card tips and overdeclare how much we actually make, leaving the waiters with $20 paychecks for 2 weeks of work.

Two of the offenses mentioned above are actionable. Rounding off time with the labor commission and cockroaches with the Board of Health. If you in fact suffered these issues, taking them to the proper instances is better than griping.

I have notified the health board of the multiple cockroach sitings, but have yet to hear back in the past 4 months. This is a place to warn others, not attack fellow restaurant workers. Thanks for your concern.
