dont you love it when a measly hostess sleeps with the gm and/or owner just to get ahead and it works? thats exactly what happened here. some know it all wine snob (btw hardly anyone is going to care THAT much about wine while theyre eating at chow. gimme a break.) who started as a scum sucking hostess has made her way to the top of this bs company- and loves to come onto the floor and freak/stress everyone out for no good reason. they love to suck their own dicks when it comes to how organic everything is (cant wait for this organic trend to die down) but the food tastes pretty mediocre. most of it is just bad. they STRRRRRESS all the time- especially the female gm (who is nice enough to customers but at the same time openly discusses her dislike or concern over an employees competence in front of everyone- extremely unproffessional- and plays obvious favorites to hurt peoples feelings she’d like to weed out) who is so stressed that her staff is uptight and nervous making it nearly impossible to have a good shift. they dont want servers to take care of their own tables - they want you to take care of ALL the tables ALL at once. "teamwork" is what they are choosing to call it- and when someone is on a break and you have ten tables all over the restaurant and youre slammed- they look at you like "why are you having a hard time? why arent you answering the phone - and theres food to run" and if you need help they make you feel guilty in this really gross passive aggressive manner. its self seating so your money isnt spread out- and with all the demands to constantly look busy when theres nothing to do and all the stress that comes with working there- the money is just not worth it. jackasses made their shitty menu too cheap for anyone to make decent money(severs get excited when they have $100 night) you have to rely on turnover like a goddamned diner. and you have to wait FOREVER for a dessert to come out. and if youre not a part of their little hipster clique you will be made to immediately feel like an outsider. im so sick of working at restaurants. theyre all the same in the way that something really sucks about all of them. and san francisco thinks its so special cuz its close to wine country. living here has totally turned me off to wine and fancy restaurants- what a bunch of as#%*es. i hope they all get scurvy or dysentary.

When you have mediocre people like yourself …people tend to get stressed..thats the problem with the restaurant servers now ..you sound a bit bitter even before you showed up at chow..and i am quite sure you will continue pass around your bad attitude..I have always enjoyed chows staff the servers have always been great …whats wrong with Organic
food clean food is a plus but when its served by person with a bad attitude it reflects on your tip…tip for you do all patrons in s.f. and look into a different career…
You don’t even sound like you’ve worked at Park Chow nor in the restaurant industry at all. Otherwise you would know that some of what Truth SAYER said is very in line with what’s going on, even if they said it in a vitriolic manner. And sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but everyone who has worked in the restaurant industry for a good chunk of time has a little bit of bitterness to them even if they don’t decide to let it show at work.

his is funny. I worked at this location for over a year and it sounds like it hasn’t changed. Everyone there was fun and nice to work with- and the female GM you speak of was not the GM at the time- but was still a major stress case none the less. The strange thing was everyone was used to it. I had a hard time getting used to being unhappy at work so i left. You should too if you haven’t already. They are extremely petty (they’ve lost quite a few good servers from it) and will try their best to make you want to quit if you aren’t willing to take it rough with no lube.
