Horribly run establishment

Establishment: Outback Steakhouse

Location: Federal Way/Everywhere

Is there anything on Outback’s menu thats Australian? No! Why does this matter? Because this is a small example of how this company is founded on deception and lies.

I cant put down all the things that have turned my opinion of Outback Steakhouse to shame, but to sum it up,

- They took away our autogratuity on parties of 8 or more, and we have to pay tipshare which is 3% of our sales. So if a party of 20 comes in and spends 500 dollars and leaves five bucks in tip, YOU OWE THE HOUSE $15, YOU LOSE TEN DOLLARS FOR SERVING THAT TABLE!!!! They took away the autograt because quote "people with big groups will eat here instead of other places since we will be the only ones without autograt". So YEAH Outback makes more sales while the servers lose money. GO OUTBACK!

- Corporate needs to allow us to change the damn music, they play twenty songs over and over again all day long. Customers even complain. GO OUTBACK!

- Management needs to take courses in… management. GO OUTBACK!

- Jim Brown (regional director) needs to lay off the adirol, he comes in zoomin to check on us, stops you randomly, quizes you on junk, then tells you your answer is wrong and your not following training. Even though the manager tells us one thing, then here comes Jim telling us were not following training, and hes zooming off before you can explain that you were trained wrong. GO OUTBACK!

- Feeling disposable? You will here. GO OUTBACK!

- Benefits? Not in WA or OR, corporate is too cheap to pay the higher min wage, so WA and OR is run by proprietors who (cant afford insurance) GO OUTBACK!

- They treat you as if you have the best job available, and they want you to work as if your thankful for the opportunity to look like crocodile dundee while running around an outdated goofy resturaunt with rotting teeth since you aint got no insuro. GO OUTBACK!

- We used to have 50% discount, but surprisingly the exact same day min wage went up 14 cents they cut our discount to 25%. What kind of childish retaliation is that? GO OUTBACK!

From the Washington regional director Jim Brown to their in asst branch managers such as Ann  in federal way, this company does not run a dining establishment, they operate with a turn an burn policy with customers as well as employees.

Now I understand every company exists to make money as its priority, and Brian the proprietor is a hardworking honest man, but the asst manager Ann pretty much runs shit and as one customer put it while complaining about Outback, when you try and cut corners to save a dollar, you will lose four instead. And my word, this could not be more true. They cut their staff down so low that every employee from boh to foh is doing extra work on top of their own. This includes running food since they cut the food runners, dishwashers running back and forth from the dish pit to make salads and appetizers, cooks having to do all the prep work, and if you cross paths with management for one reason or another (not kissing A** or not drinking with Ann after work) you get stuffed in the to-go room. What is that supposed to be time out?

Or your schedule suffers, everyone works around four days a week except the brown nosers. They dont care about the customers, the food portions are getting smaller and less quality, and check out their nutrition facts menu, the only reason any of their food besides the steaks taste good at all is because it is more horrible for you than mcdonalds.

Atleast at junk food stops you know your eating junk. But when you go to a resturaunt with pastas that cost $18 you expect a little more culinary magic than just making your taste buds go haywire from eating a concoction of high calories and fat.

LETS GO TO OUTBACK TONITE!!!

I’m sorry, but Outback is, was and always will be a dive.
To expect otherwise, whether as a customer or employee is idiocy.
If you don’t like it, leave.
Life’s too short.

I know. I hated working for outback. Probably one of the worst places on earth.

How does one get a hold of Jim brown? does he have an email address?

I work at Outback now and I absolutely hate it. Our managers are incompetent and I’m afraid to talk to them or make a mistake because they have terrible tempers.
