Martin’s doing most of the drinking

I was a server at Martin’s off Madison and while I liked many of the customers, the owner and half the staff are alcoholics. Its embarrassing when you are trying to give a table the best service possible and your drunk boss comes over to "chat" while swaying back and forth. I also think some of my former co-workers are "coked up." Its sad because the hard-working people there are forced to look the other way even when they know what is going on.
I thought Marty was a nice guy but once I left, I saw his true colors. He even accused me of stealing! I no longer worry about what he’s said about me, but I left feeling like he would trash me rather than deal with any of the issues in the restaurant. I worked hard for him, but ultimately he owns the place so he can drink for free and be the big man. Don’t work here unless its a last resort.
I had a temp job as a cook at Martin’s a couple of years ago
and never even saw Marty drink. I never knew him to accuse anybody of stealing and he was always nice to me.
None of the staff was ever “coked up” or under the influence of any drugs. I’m sorry that the former server
did not have a good experience working at Martin’s Off Madison.
