No pay for waiting around

The Oyster House was one of my first waiter jobs and because they made the most tips in Olympia no one would complain about their illegal labor practices. But me being naive and stupid got myself "fired"? They would schedule waiters on the clock at a certain time and would require that you be there on time but they would not let you clock in until they needed you. This could be from one to two hours you would have to sit in the back corner near the bathrooms and their greasy lockers until they "let" you clock on. If they didnt need you at all they told you to go home after waiting for a few hours. Being naive I asked the person that trained me if this was illegal and what to do about it. The next day when I went to clock in I was somehow removed from the computer system. No one would give me an explanation and no one would tell me that I was fired they just told me that I couldn’t work any more… SHAMELESS …
I worked at this hell hole for 2 years. They did the same thing then and its sad to hear that its still happening. The owners son, Rich, is a raging coke head and just a waste of space in general. The owner is a bible thumping biggot and racist. Even the guests see how the staff is treated and are put off by it. I now work at Seattle finest steakhouse and I make a point of spreading as much bad publicity about the oyster house every opprotunity that I get.
