Tipping out the OWNER of our Restaraunt

Establishment: Galliano’s

Location: SeaTac, Tukwila and Sammamish

I work as a server in this restaraunt and we have to tip out our supervisor and THE OWNER. He doesn’t help us out unless we do something wrong. Other than that he just sits in his office all night but we STILL have to tip him our 1.5%. Is this even legal in Washington state and if not who do I contact?????

NO!!!!! It is completely illegal to tip the owner. I owned Market Street Grill in Ballard for 9 years and I know of what I speak. Go to the labor realations board and go get that knucklehead.

Definitely do not tip out the owner.
Call L&I to find out your rights.

On an aside, hey dineout guy! I miss you and Ballard and your awesome Market street Grill.

Hey, former Wild Mountain Girl. Thanks for your nice thought. It was a great run and we miss you all in Seattle!!!

That is definitely illegal. Contact Washington State Labor and Industries or the U.S. Department of Labor. File a complaint.
That is truly disgusting. Neither owners, nor managers, nor back of house staff should expect to be tipped out.
