Symptoms of a bad Job
- On your job interview they ask you to be trained for a few days with no pay and then you may or may not get the job.
- Your employer asks you to clock out but to continue working to avoid overtime pay
- Management or any other workers such as (BOH) takes a cut of the servers tips.
- Your employer makes comments about your sexual orientation, religion, or ethnic background.
- Your employer forces you to pay for mistakes on checks or customer walkouts.
- Your boss is verbally abusive.
- Sexual harassment is tolerated where you work.
- Management shamelessly asks you to stay late or come in early with no notice and not even consider you might refuse.
- Management routinely hires only certain ethnicities for certain jobs (such as dishwasher) and keeps certain ethnicities out of certain other jobs (such as server or host).
- Management takes you off the schedule immediately after you give your two weeks’ notice
- Management discourages you from filling out an injury report if you are involved in an on-the-job accident. (Fill it out that very day or risk losing worker’s compensation!)
